No cookies are set when you first arrive, and nothing is reported to anyone. Until you answer the banner, nothing is stored on your device and no activity of yours leaves this page.
We do load Meta's pixel script on arrival, with its consent setting switched off, so that it is present but silent. That much means Meta's servers see the request for the file itself, which carries your IP address, in the same way any image or font on any website does. It sets no cookies and reports nothing about you until you accept.
If you accept, the pixel starts reporting. It tells Meta that this page was viewed and, by way of Meta's automatic event detection, which buttons you click and the words on them. We use it to measure whether our advertising works. It sets these:
_fbp, a random identifier for this browser, kept for three months._fbc, only if you arrived by clicking one of our ads, recording which ad it
was.
If you decline, the pixel is switched off and both cookies above are deleted from your browser if anything had set them previously. On every visit after that the script is not fetched at all, so once you have said no, nothing of ours contacts Meta again.
Your answer is remembered in your browser's local storage under
creationist-consent. That is not a cookie and it is never sent to us. Change
your mind whenever you like using Cookies at the bottom of any page.

We hold your name, profession, base city, how far you travel, the work you want, an optional rate band, a short bio, a profile picture, and the contact details you give us. We also ask how you heard about us, which is only ever used to work out where to put our effort and is never shown on your profile.
Pictures are resized in your browser before they reach us, which removes the hidden data a phone camera attaches to a photo, including where it was taken.
The map is not public. Only approved Creationist Club members can open it, and they sign in with a link sent to the email on their own profile.
Members see your name, profession, city, availability and portfolio links. Your email stays hidden unless you tick the box to show it. Your location is pinned to a city centre and nothing finer. We never ask for or store an address.
Consent, which you give on the application form. You can withdraw it at any time and we take the profile down.
Your profile goes to nobody. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to advertisers. Other members can see the public part of it, which is the point of it.
The one exception is the cookie section above: if you accept advertising cookies, Meta receives the fact that a browser viewed this page. That is separate from your profile and happens whether or not you are a member.
Until you ask us to remove it, or until a profile has sat unverified for two years, at which point we delete it.
Once you are on the map you can change anything on your profile yourself, at any time, from the Profile page. There is a Delete my profile button on the same page: it removes you from the map and deletes everything we hold about you, including your picture, straight away. You do not have to ask us.
For anything that button does not cover, including changing the email you sign in with or asking for a copy of what we hold, email hello@creationistclub.com and we will action it within 30 days. If you think we have handled it badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
